We are currently looking for the enthusiastic team members for our Enterprise
Shared Services (ESS) at Shanghai. Mercer¡¯s ESS provides system development,
support and implementation services for our business functions. With develop
ment centres located in USA, Canada, Singapore, Shanghai and India, the centre
can provide high quality services with the cost efficiencies associated with
an offshore service delivery model.

Software Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is based in the Shanghai but will involve working closely with collea
gues based in Singapore, US, Europe and throughout Asia. Require an individual
who can be self-motivated to deliver individual projects as well as participa
ting in wider project teams. You will have the opportunity to work with many d
iverse technologies and be challenged by the variety of requirements that diff
erent projects present.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Involve in designing, development, support and maintenance of existing and new
projects for both internal and external client use. To fulfill this role, th
e Developer will:
• Technical implementation and testing of software solutions
• Work with limited supervision while providing constant feedback on pro
ject status and deadlines. The Developer is expected to work in a team-oriente
d role with constant interaction with other team members
• Utilize software development lifecycle processes
• Work with business analysts to resolve functional issues and technical
implementation

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
• Master or BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equiv
alent education.
• Fresh grad with strong technical skills and passion in software develo
pment
• Individual with more working experience will be considered for senior
position
• Strong .Net, C# development skills, familiar with .NET 2.0 framework o
r above
• Experience in AJAX.NET, XML, JavaScript, Web services, DotNetNuke
• SQL Server 2005 and/or Oracle 9i/10g experience
• Visual Studio 2005 Team System experience a plus
• Experience developing multi-tier applications using test-driven develo
pment
• Good communication skills, both oral and written in English
• Demonstrated analytic and problem solving capabilities
• General knowledge of database design
• Self-starter with excellent analytical, organizational and time manage
ment skills
• Fast learner with quality consciousness and commitment to deadlines
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability and desire to learn new skills and understand technologies thr
ough hands-on involvement in projects
