Description
In this position, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Researching a general solution for cube data visualization via Google Earth
- Researching and implementing control strategies for sales data access
- Designing and building a sales cube
- Exploring methods for visualizing reports and dashboard via Google Earth
- Developing a prototype to demonstrate an integrated data exhibition and analytical environment
- Developing a plug-in run upon Google Earth with a capability of visualizing various cubes
- Contributing to system design and architecture
- Contributing to published deliverables and project publications
- Using existing open-source libraries and performing the research in an open and collaborative environment


Qualifications
You must be a Ph.D or a Master of Science degree candidate in Computer Science or software engineering or related fields in a leading university in China and is willing to carry out your dissertation and/or thesis research in our lab in Beijing and Shanghai. Additional qualifications include:
- Theoretical understanding and practical experience of business intelligence, including ETL deployment, data mart establishment, cube building, OLAP, reports and dashboard generation
- Familiarity with Microsoft BI suite, including MSRS, MSAS, MSIS
- Good knowledge of major data visualization techniques
- Familiarity with development with Google Earth and/or Google Map API
- Good knowledge of J2EE framework and Web 2.0
- Strong programming skill in Java environment
- Familiarity with Apache Tomcat, MySql, Windows and Linux server environment
- Highly motivated and capable of working towards set project goals and milestones
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Good verbal and written English skills
- Knowledge of other BI tools, such as Cognos, Microstrategy would be an added advantage
